Hello Legislative Staff,
It has recently come to our attention that the legislature is in the process of hiring a new Legislative Equity Officer, and has engaged a recruiting firm, Spellman Johnson, to assist with the search.
As a part of that recruitment, Spellman Johnson is hoping to meet with building stakeholders, including members of our bargaining unit, on the morning of August 31st in Salem. We have the opportunity to send two members of our unit to participate in this process, and wanted to put a call out to the whole unit to seek volunteers. We are looking for members from both major parties and hopefully from both chambers to be represented.
We all know how important the LEO position and office is to staff, and that problems with this office have hit our unit especially hard, so it is vital that we have thoughtful engagement from our group in this process.
The ask is a one time commitment for an hour to provide feedback to Spelman Johnson in Salem. Please respond to Justin by EOB Thursday 8/18 if you are interested.
